The multimedia packager available in GPAC is called MP4Box. It can be used for performing many manipulations on multimedia files like AVI, MPG, TS, but mostly on ISO media files (e.g. MP4, 3GP). In short, MP4Box can be used: for encoding/decoding presentation languages like MPEG-4 XMT or W3C SVG into/from binary formats like MPEG-4 BIFS or LASeR, for manipulating ISO files like MP4, 3GP: adding, removing, multiplexing audio, video and presentation data (including subtitles) from different sources and in different formats, for performing encryption of streams for attaching metadata to individual streams or to the whole ISO file to produce MPEG-21 compliant or hybrid MPEG-4/MPEG-21 files and packaging and tagging the result for streaming, download and playback on different devices (e.g. phones, PDA) or for different software (e.g. iTunes). It is widely used: by academics, by the video community and is noticeably used in Google Video services for preparation of multimedia files for playback on iPod and PlayStation.
Edcast (aka Oddcast) was probably the best alternative to shoutcast's own DSP for sourcing shoutcast DNAS - in fact, many would argue it was superior in many ways. For example, it can also source Icecast natively, not in dumbed down shoutcast emulation mode. A year ago, or more, I can't recall, "oddsock" shut down, due to undisclosed issues. A year before that, however, I'd already tinkered with the code, adding an ASIO version. Primarily for my own, unusual, set up. DVD43 is a free DVD decrypter that runs in the background and decrypts DVDs on the fly. This website gives you some basic information, like what it does, how to use it, and where to download it. If your copy program needs a decrypter, you can use DVD43. It's free, so you won't need to waste money on a decrypter. This website does not host the DVD43 setup file and is not affiliated with the authors of DVD43, but it does provide safe links to the program. WHAT DOES IT DO?: DVD43 will decrypt (unlock) a movie DVD so that your copy program can read it. If the DVD structure is non standard or the DVD contains bad sectors, your copy program needs to take care of that. Outdated copy software like DVDXCopy can't handle bad sectors commonly found on newer DVDs. You need a copy program that provides frequent updates to handle new movies as they are released. I have included a list of programs (at the bottom of this page) which are compatible with DVD43. Only one (1Click DVD Copy) was able to copy all the DVDs I tested without errors.
